I've been thinking a lot lately about my style- both in decorating our home (because let's face it- Noah doesn't care, bless him!) and my clothing.
Searching through online catalogs, sewing patterns and fashion photos as well as thinking about my lifestyle and practicality, I've come up with a few words to describe my ideal style: feminine, casual and colorful.
Things I love: full skirts, feminine fabrics and colors, stripes and dots and comfy shoes.
And some images:

Whew!! Now I'm in the mood to go sew!
I am almost done with a dress inspired by this one from www.etsy.com :
I even installed a zipper for the first time! :)
I both love and hate sewing clothes for myself.
I love being able to see something and think, "I can totally make that."
I hate that I have to pick and choose what to work on!! Haha!!
And while the vision often doesn't translate to the finished product, I can honestly say that every time I sew a garment, I learn something new.
That, my friends, makes it worth it.
Because gosh darn it, one day I want to make my daughters a fancy prom/wedding dress (sorry Alexander, I don't know if a tuxedo will be in the mix, hehe. Love you to pieces though!) :)
