About Me

My Photo
I'm a diaper-changing, swing-pushing, story-telling Mama with a creative streak and a nurturing spirit. I like growing food and flowers (and people, hehe), sewing clothes and quilts, cooking and eating and running, a long, tight hug and the color yellow. I love date nights at home, spontaneous trips to the bookstore and hearing my babies laugh. I am indecisive, exaggerative and I overuse parentheses. I am reflective and sentimental and quick to laugh. I think I still picture myself as a 22-year old, yet every year my life gets more fulfilling. I am still figuring out exactly who I am. :)

the sweetest thing

For more than five years my alarm clock has been one or more of my kidlets coming to wake me up.

So imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning to no kids in bed with me or on the floor (have I told you about our sleeping arrangement? I suppose it is unconventional, but we all sleep in the same room, Alex and Lucy in bed with me and Claire on the floor in her "special bed." We love it!)

As I slowly started to wake up a bit, I could hear them in the kitchen, laughing.

Then I hear them giggling and running down the hall and proudly announcing that they made us breakfast!

Seriously, how cute is that??

I melted. :)

They were so proud of it and were so happy that I loved what they made me- raisin bran with soymilk.

And Noah was so cute and grateful too, even though he woke up an hour and a half later and his cereal was soggy to the point of mush. :)
Dang I love them. :)
