About Me

My Photo
I'm a hand-holding, swing-pushing, story-telling Mama with a creative streak and a nurturing spirit. I like growing food and flowers (and people, hehe), sewing clothes and quilts, cooking and eating and running, a long, tight hug and the color yellow. I love date nights at home, spontaneous trips to the bookstore and hearing my babies laugh. I am indecisive, exaggerrative and I overuse parentheses. I am reflective and sentimental and quick to laugh. I think I still picture myself as a 22-year old, yet every year my life gets more fulfilling. I am still figuring out exactly who I am. :)

lately

Savoring, a few pages at a time:

 Watching my girl play soccer!

Cheering as Noah coached his team to the second biggest win of his career

I just love seeing him so happy!
Sewing three wool coats at a time, slowly and carefully.

Welcoming my favorite season, with changing leaves and cooler temps

Loving the napkin note she wrote to Daddy

Story: She's got a favorite shirt that says "Everyone loves a brown-eyed girl." It is skin tight, full of holes and of course, pink, and she wants to wear it everyday. I let her wear it under things as long as it doesn't show. So she came up with an acceptable substitute, as none of my suggestions have been good enough: She writes "everyone loves a brown-eyed girl" on her new, better-fitting pink tee with washable marker. The ink comes right off in the wash, and she thinks it's great. I think it is resourceful and adorable. :)

Building train tracks with my best boy (should I be embarrassed that I like it as much as he does?)
This was a couple weeks ago- sick kids sleeping in the middle of the day. :( And Lulu taking advantage of track time! :)

Getting a kick out of this one, who thinks it is hilarious to climb up on the table, run out into the street, and dress herself. ;)
psst: Those are actually my undies she is wearing around her shoulders. :)

Awaiting our new dishwasher (hooray for new and white and quiet!)

Dreaming of rain and gray skies and soup for dinner and flannel sheets.

Regretting that loaf of garlic bread I ate yesterday.

Thanking my lucky stars for this life. :)
